Kibaki petitions Judiciary on election appeals

Kenya -  President Mwai Kibaki has urged the Judiciary to be adequately prepared for any appeals that may arise from the electoral process after the General Election in March next year.

The president stressed that a speedy and just resolution of the cases will go a long way in entrenching the country’s democracy, Capital News reports.

Kibaki went on to add that he trusts the Judiciary will live up to the expectations of the Kenyan people, noting that the coming elections will be one of the most competitive in the nation’s history because of the sheer number of seats that have been established under the Constitution.
