Kibaki: Increase secondary school slots

02 February 2012, 12:01

Nairobi - Capital News reports that President Mwai Kibaki on Tuesday issued a directive to the Ministries for Finance and Education to increase slots in secondary schools to cope with growing number of students exiting primary schools.

President Kibaki, at the same time, assured parents that his government would allocate funds in the coming budget to employ more teachers to reduce the prevailing shortage in the country.

The move by the president is in a bid in keeping in line with Kenya's development blueprint, Vision 2030, so as to meet the education goals set out and requires corporation between the  government, the private sector and development partners to implement.
