Kethi denies charges, freed on bond

Nairobi - Lawyer Kethi Kilonzo appeared in court on Tuesday, accompanied by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to answer to charges of stealing, handling stolen property and presenting false documents to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
Capital News reports that she denied the charges before Magistrate Doreen Mulekyo and was released on a KES 100 000 bond, together with her co-accused IEBC official Godfrey Lemiso.
Through her lawyer Fred Ojiambo, Kethi had objected to the charges saying they were illegal and unconstitutional, however Mulekyo ruled that she did not demonstrate how the charges were defective and that the law can only protect her after she had answered to the accusations.
