Nairobi - The US government is planning to train anti-drug narcortic experts in Kenya in a bid to counter cartels smuggling narcotics through Africa to Europe, New York Times reported.
According to Capital News reports, Jeffrey Breeden, chief of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Europe, Asia and Africa section said that the US is already training officers in Ghana and it also plans to do the same in Nigeria.
Breeden went on to add that the US sees Africa as the new frontier in terms of counterterrorism and counternarcotics issues, and it’s a place that they need to get ahead of — as they are already behind the curve in some ways, and they need to catch up.
