FBI joins team investigating JKIA fire

Nairobi - Top security authorities say they are ruling out terrorism as a cause of the inferno that destroyed the arrivals hall at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
For now international flights have resumed and officials improvised immigration and luggage routines.
Kenyan investigators are being assisted by members of the FBI, as they try to unravel the mystery of what caused Wednesday's fire.
A security official said on Thursday the investigation has ruled out terrorism and was now trying to determine if the fire was intentional or accidental. The official insisted on anonymity because he wasn't authorised to release the information while the investigation was ongoing.
The fire turned into an inferno in part because of a slow and inadequate response from fire fighters. No serious injuries were reported.
The Kenya Airports Authority said it was working to ensure a return to normal service.
