Kenya Power apologizes for latest countrywide blackout

Nairobi - The Kenya Power company has apologized to Kenyans for the inconvenience caused by a blackout that hit many parts of the country.

The outage affected many parts of the country and caught Kenyans unawares from the early hours of the morning.

" A System breakdown has caused a major power outage affecting Nairobi, Mount Kenya and Coast Regions, a statement from the power firm said.

" Lines serving Nairobi, Mombasa and Mt Kenya Regions are off.Our technicians are addressing the issue and Power supply will be restored soon.

After several hours of complaints by Kenyans, the problem was finally solved in the later hours of the day.

" Electricity has been restored to all parts of the country after a breakdown that caused power outage was solved, the firm said in the evening.

This is not the first time that a major power outage has hit the country and the company said it was working to ensure that similar problems do not occur in future.
