Nairobi -An activist has moved to court to challenge Labour Cabinet Secretary, Kazungu Kambi’s educational credentials.
Charles Omanga, has filed a petition seeking the court to instruct the government official to present his university degree certificate alleging that he has been heading the ministry in “questionable manner.”
He accused Kambi of giving false information regarding his academic qualifications during his vetting before taking office.
“In recent past, Samuel Kazungu Kambi has not behaved in a manner that a graduate should conduct himself. He has made arbitrary decisions and he has been all over the place,” said Omanga in his petition.
Last June, a Parliamentary Committee investigated Kambi where he explained his educational background and the challenges he faced during his education.
“Corruption all over the world is an enemy to development Mr Speaker and Mr Speaker with my Degree in Development, I know what I am talking about,” Kambi was quoted as saying alluding to his qualifications.
He has been facing a series of challenges since his appointment to head the Labour ministry.
Last year, a strike by teachers lasted for about a month marking his lowest point in the ministry.
Kambi was on the spotlight again over the National Social Security Funds associated with the controversial Tassia project that has for now been suspended.
Central Organization Trade Union Secretary General, Francis Atwoli, has called for his resignation.
