29 August 2012, 14:14
Nairobi - The Secretary General of Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut), David Osiany has announced that a nationwide teachers' strike will begin next Monday.
In a statement to The Standard, Osiany said no learning will take place in schools and warned teachers not to demonstrate on the streets as they press for salary increment.
The strike coincides with the reopening of schools for third and final term of the year, which will be shorter because of the new regulations only the candidates should be in school when national exams are administered.
