KES 4bn released for free maternal healthcare

Nairobi - Daily Nation reports Treasury on Thursday released KES 4 billion for free maternal healthcare in public health centres countrywide.
According to the Director of Medical Services Francis Kimani, KES 1 billion was also released for the first quarter, April to June, to buy additional equipment such as delivery beds and incubators.
The move is aimed at meeting the expected increase in the number of expectant mothers seeking maternity care.
