KES 48bn allocated to county governments

Nairobi - County governments have been allocated by the Senate, a further KES 48 billion above the KES 210 billion that the National Treasury had earmarked for them.
The senators approved the increase when they amended the Division of Revenue Bill, thus raising the shareable revenue among counties from KES 190 billion to KES 238 billion, Daily Nation reports.
The chairman of the House Committee on Finance, Commerce and Economic Affairs Billow Kerrow, said that it was their feeling that there’s no way that KES 190 billion can sustain the counties, as the unanimous decision was passed.
