KES 3 billion released for education

Nairobi - The government has disbursed over KES 3 billion for free education in schools' second term programme, The Standard reports.
The funds were disbursed to respective bank accounts of all public primary and secondary schools on May 24 by the Ministry of Education.
In a statement, the Ministry of Education said that KES 2 billion has gone towards the Free Primary Education (FPE) to cater for 8 754 143 pupils which constitute 21 per cent of the Second Term capitation.
