Judiciary clarifies plans to buy aeroplane
05 June 2013, 07:54
Nairobi - Daily Nation reports the Judiciary was on Tuesday asked by MPs to explain its proposal to buy a fixed-wing plane for KES 300 million instead of renting one at a cheaper price when need arises.
The cost of the plane is included in the Judiciary's proposed budget of KES 24.1 billion in the coming financial year.
Chief Registrar Gladys Shollei explained the proposal to purchase rather than hiring the aeroplane before the parliamentary Budget Committee chaired by Mbeere South MP Mutava Musyimi.
