Kabarnet - Kabarnet Court Magistrate, Samson Temu, bemoaned the prevalence of rape and bestiality in the region.
The magistrate revealed that his court, which is in Baringo County, handles an average three cases dealing with rape on a weekly basis.
This week, the magistrate sentenced two brothers to life imprisonment after finding them guilty of raping a five-old-girl.
In the same court, a man was given a ten year jail sentence after pleading guilty for attempting to rape a new mother.
Amid the prosecutions, another man was awaiting his sentence after he was charged with committing bestiality.
“I do not know where the community has gone wrong and I do not know what is happening, but we believe the media will help the community to know the repercussions of such offences so that it can act as a deterrent to likeminded person,” said Temu.
