Nairobi - Gladys Shollei's shoes as the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary will be filled by Kakai Kissinger in an acting capacity. This follows the recent sacking of \Shollei.
The Standard reports the post will be held by Kissinger, who has been the deputy chief registrar, until the Judicial Service Commission places an advertisement to fill it, said Chief Justice Willy Mutunga.
JSC decided to sack Shollei after finding her guilty of financial impropriety. The CJ said they had investigated the allegations for two months and found her guilty.
However, Shollei has exonerated herself from the alleged fraud in the JSC, saying no money was lost during her tenure.
Shollei accused some commissioners within the commission of plotting her removal from office.
Nairobi County Women Representative, Rachael Shebesh, said Shollei’s sacking was another case of discrimination against strong-willed women.
Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) chairperson, Ruth Aura, also protested the sack saying women holding key positions in public offices are being haunted.
"I believe @gladysshollei should have been given the chance to respond to the issues raised against her. What was the rush to dismiss her #JSC," Chris Kirubi, a Nairobi businessman wrote on his twitter handle, @CKirubi.
