ISOCARP to help Kenya in urban planning

China - The Standard reports that International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP)has pledged to assist the Kenya government in its urban planning programmes in a bid to counter its urban challenges.
In exchange, Kenya has agreed to support ISOCARP’s efforts in its dissemination and share relevant knowledge, expertise, tools, methods and experiences in sustainable human settlements and urban development.
The sentiments were relayed by Housing Minister Soita Shitanda and his lands counterpart James Orengo, as they attended the 47th ISOCARP conference in Wuhan, China.
Shitanda and Orengo said the government must give top priority to sorting out the urban planning challenges in Kenya as well as the construction of liveable cities across the country.
