IEBC to surrender voting kits for laptop project

Nairobi - The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is resisting a directive to surrender 45,000 laptops used in the March 4 election to the Ministry of Education, lest they become obsolete from disuse.
Daily Nation reports that the laptops are to facilitate the training of teachers ahead of the free laptops project whose implementation will begin in January.
However, the electoral body says the only way they will release the computers is if the correct transfer of assets procedures are followed.
