IEBC CEO's wife seeks divorce

Nairobi - The Standard reports the wife of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chief Executive Officer, James Oswago, has gone to court to seek divorce from her husband. 

Benter Akinyi Opande, has moved to court to challenge a decision by a magistrate’s court that had struck out a divorce case she had filed saying that a lower court did not have jurisdiction to hear the suit.

Akinyi, who is a secretary with the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet), had filed a suit at the magistrate’s court seeking to divorce from Oswago citing desertion and neglect. She also wants KES 203,000 per month as maintenance.
