ICC rebuked for using Kalenjin initiation video

Eldoret - Kalenjin elders have rebuked ICC for using the community’s circumcision video footage as evidence in the trial against Deputy President William Ruto and former radio journalist Joshua Sang.
They now want action to be taken against those who presented the footage to ICC investigators saying that filming such cultural activities was against their customs, The Standard reports.
The clip showed images of young men undergoing initiation, who according to the prosecution, were being prepared for the violence that was witnessed after the 2007 polls.
However, council of elders chair John Seii refuted the claims saying the clip was fabricated to implicate the two in the cases. He added that it should have been produced with audio sound to determine whether there was some sort of training for war.
