Nairobi - Kenya's UN ambassador, Macharia Kamau, has condemned the ICC for taking time to review applications seeking to have the president and his Deputy skip most of their trials at The Hague.
Kamau said that the ICC has been adamant despite having received several requests from various quarters to defer the cases facing the two principals. He said that by delaying to grant the pleas, Daily Nation reports, the court is coming out as one that is inflexible and unaccommodating to the needs of member states.
The court has already excused the President from attending all his ICC trials at The Hague, but is yet to make a ruling on Ruto’s presence at the court during his ongoing trials.
