Eldoret - North Rift leaders want the International Criminal Court (ICC) to allow President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto tried in absentia.
The leaders also backed the African Union resolution seeking to have the cases deferred or the hearings to proceed in the absence of the two, The Standard reports.
They urged the ICC to support the ongoing healing and reconciliation efforts in the country after the 2007/8 post election violence.
