Nairobi - The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) plans to give eligible university students an extra KES 20 000 in the next financial year.
According to The Standard, the loans board Chief Executive Officer Charles Ringera said that the minimum cash given to students will be KES 60 000 starting next financial year. Currently, the minimum cash granted to students is KES 40 000.
However, this review will only be possible if the Government plugs the over KES10 billion gap, said Ringera.
