Govt plans to open more border checkpoints

Nairobi - The Standard reports the government on Wednesday said it is planning to open more border checkpoints along the Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia borders in its efforts to curb insecurity.
According to Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku, the borders are not secure hence the need to increase checkpoints.
He said the government is facing challenges in guarding the area and called for support from the British government to help in boosting
the security agency’s capacity.
