Nairobi - An MP and two directors of a private firm have been blacklisted following corruption claims related to a multibillion-shilling tender for maize importation.
According to The Standard, the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) signed a KES 4.9 billion tender without consulting the country's chief legal adviser, the Attorney General. This was revealed on Tuesday in a report presented to Parliament by the Public Investment Committee (PIC).
The controversial tender with M/S Erad Supplies and General Contracts Limited led to the firm seeking a court order to auction NCPB silos over a breach of contract.
The individuals involved are businessman Jacob Juma, Sirisia MP John Waluke and Grace Sarapay Wakhungu.
