Governors: Pesa Mashinani still on

13 February 2015, 15:43

Nairobi - Governors have said that their push to have more funds allocated to counties is still on.

The Council of Governors (CoG) Chairman Isaac Ruto said, their initiative dubbed Pesa Mashinani, will not be abandoned until they achieve their objective, The Standard reported.

He revealed that they have collected more than 1.2 million signatures for the drive, a proof that they are ready to carry on with their course.

The governors vowed to continue with their push even as the government announced that it would increase the funds to KES 258 billion in the 2015-2016 financial year.

This means that counties will get an additional KES 32 billion when compared to the previous allocation of KES 226 billion.
