Nairobi - The youth of the country needs to be educated about sexual health and the government needs to play a bigger role to help curb teenage pregnancy, the Star reports.
Every year, close to 500,000 students graduate from tertiary institutions and the youth acccount for 30% of the workforce. Unemployment is a big issue that the government is trying to tackle. But recently, reproductive health is having a profound effect on the youth population, with many more teenage pregnancies and abortions taking place.
Clinics need to educate the youth on family planning and contraception. With the youth being such a vital cog in the country's machine, these young people will become the workforce in 5 years time.
