Government to cater for Mzee Ojwang' medical bill

Nairobi - The government will pay the hospital bill for the ailing veteran actor, Benson Wanjau, popularly known as Mzee Ojwang’.

Deputy President William Ruto said the government will foot Mzee Ojwang’s medical bill and wished him a quick recovery.

Mzee Ojwang' who featured in the popular Vitimbi television program for over three decades is set to undergo eye surgery to treat his failing eyesight due to effects of diabetes, Daily Nation reported.

News of the health of the actor led to the start of an online campaign to help clear his hospital bill under the hashtag #OkoaMzeeOjwang.
