Naivasha - A form four candidate at Milimani High School in Naivasha was forced to sit for her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Exams in hospital after giving birth to a baby girl.
The 18-year-old girl was taken to hospital on Monday after developing labor pains, The Standard reports. She sat for the English paper in the hospital with a guard and an invigilator.
More than 450 000 students are sitting for the exam that started on Tuesday morning amid tough new rules set to curb cheating.
The rules include revised sitting arrangement so that the candidates are not close to each other to exchange notes, writing the exams in the mornings only, a 30 minutes break between papers and a ban on candidates walking out of the exam room before the time set for each paper.
