Gichangi was fired for incompetence

Nairobi - A day after President Uhuru Kenyatta announced the resignation of NIS Chief Michael Gichangi, reports have emerged that the security chief was sacked for incompetence.
In a tweet posted Friday, Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi wrote, “Gichangi did NOT RESIGN: He Was FIRED NICELY. Good riddance to bureaucratic incompetence. Now they Must PURGE the NSIS Deadwood without Mercy.”
Daily Nation also reveals that Gichangi’s sour relationship with the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Julius Karangi and Inspector-General of Police, David Kimaiyo could have contributed to his sacking.
Citing the recent Mpeketoni attacks and last year’s Westgate siege, the security bosses accused Gichangi of disregarding key intelligence information and giving wrong information thus compromising the security of the citizens.
