Former Cotu treasurer faces KES 116m theft charges

Nairobi - The Standard reports former Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu) treasurer Cornel Nyangun, was on Thursday charged with stealing KES 116 million from the union.
Nyangun who went into hiding after hearing that he was wanted by
police, appeared before Principal Magistrate Patrick Ndegwa
yesterday and pleaded not guilty.
He was remanded for three days after the prosecutor asked the
court for more time saying investigations were still ongoing.
