Migori - A football fan was stabbed to death whilst his attacker was lynched by angry members after the pair argued over the result of Friday's World Cup quarterfinal between Brazil and Colombia.
The incident happened in Awendo, Migori County, as police launched investigations over the two deaths.
Awendo police boss Kipsang Chengach confirmed on Sunday that a 25-year-old man was knifed to death outside a local pub in the town after he disagreed over the outcome of the match.
Chengach added the suspect fled the scene but was tracked down eight hours after committing the murder and was lynched.
Odhiambo is appealing for more security personnel to patrol the town for the rest of the tournament where matches run deep into the night.
The two bodies were taken to a local mortuary, pending post mortem examinations results.
