First Lady speaks on ivory trade

Nyeri - First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has called for suppression of demand for ivory if elephants are to be saved for future generations, Daily Nation reports.
Speaking in Nyeri on Tuesday, before a four kilometre walk to create awareness on the menace, the first lady said those in the ivory business contribute to its demand which leads to killing of elephants.
She was accompanied by Government officials including Judy Wakhungu, Cabinet Secretary (Environment, Water and Natural Resources), William Kiprono director of the Kenya Wildlife Service and students of Mt Kenya Academy.
