Fierce fire consumes furniture godown in Mombasa

Mombasa - Fire fighters from four areas were needed to battle flames for four hours on Tuesday evening to get a warehouse fire under control in Kongowea, Standard Digital reports.
The warehouse belongs to Fairdeal Group, they own Fairdeal furniture and it has been reported in the media that the damage of property was worth millions of shillings. According to their website, the company supplies furniture to corporates, embassies and government institutes. They have branches in Nairobi, Mombasa, Malindi, Nakuru and Kampala.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, but eyewitnesses said that the fire moved quickly up the two-storey building.
