Nairobi - Embu County Governor Martin Wambora has retained his seat after a High Court rejected a petition filed by gubernatorial loser Kithinji Kiragu, Capital News reports.
In her ruling, Embu Resident Judge Lady Justice Hedwig Ong’undi ordered Kiragu to pay Wambora KES 750,000 and a further KES 750,000 to both Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and Area County Returning Officer David Kiambi.
Kiragu had contested the seat on an Alliance Party of Kenya ticket (APK), which was won by Wambora on a National Alliance Party (TNA) ticket.
