Education ministry to train P1 teachers

Nairobi - The Star reports the Ministry of education has announced a recruitment drive for trainee P1 teachers and opened application to those wishing to apply to do so by May 21 in their respective zones.

According to the ministry, 8,600 trainees from the applicants will be enrolled into public teacher training colleges in the country. The two year course which successful applicants will undergo is intended to prepare prospective teachers to provide suitable learning opportunities and develop learners’ communicative skills. 

Requirements for registration is a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade “C” plain with a minimum grade of D(plain) in mathematics and a C-(minus) in English.
