EX-MP, lover arrested for alleged drug trafficking

Nairobi - Police are holding  former Budalangi MP Raphael Wanjala, his lover Joyce Akinyi and three other people over suspected drug trafficking.

They were arrested carrying a white powder from Tanzania at a roadblock along Nairobi-Namanga highway on Tuesday night.

The nature of the drugs is yet to be known as investigations are still on-going, The Standard reports.

After the arrest was reported, @Akhasakhulu tweeted “#LoveBirds Wanjala and Akinyi on a state funded holiday at Muthaiga Police Station after being found in possession of Drugs.”

Another post on twitter from @Currie_Powder read, “Akinyi has never learnt!! Doesn't she know that Wanjala only loves her for her money? 50 50.”
