EACC officers question Deepak over Anglo Leasing scam

Nairobi - Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers
Thursday questioned businessman Deepak Kamani in relation to the controversial
Anglo Leasing scam.
Kamani and his brother Rashmi Kamani are being investigated
over corruption allegations in the scandal that saw Kenya lose billions of shillings, Daily Nation reports.
Two weeks ago, treasury paid two companies KES 1.4 billion
following President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive.
The two firms First Mercantile and Universal Satspace made a
further claim of KES 3.5 billion after the payment.
The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has asked the
government to return the money saying it was using public funds to pay non-existent
