Nakuru - A donkey slaughterhouse has been discovered by water vendors in Naivasha.
The vendors, who use donkeys to transport water in the town, were searching for their three animals that were missing when they found more than 20 donkey carcasses dumped on an undeveloped land along Naivasha-Mai Mahiu road, The Standard reports.
The news drove mixed reactions on twitter with some calling on the government to legalize donkey meat.
“But what is up with Naivasha and donkey meat? How does donkey meat taste. Can someone from Naivasha update me, Naivasha tweeps have been eating donkey meat,” @C_NyaKundi wrote on twitter, he went on to say, “Somebody has told me that donkey meat is like beef bt the only difference is that it produces foam when you're chewing it.”
“Why is Donkey meet illegal?? Never heard one died as a result of consuming Donkey meat.” @iCaiser says on twitter.
“I think if the donkey meat is inspected and they declare its donkey meat then I think it shouldn't be a problem,” @allanmwailika commented on twitter.
