Crisis as nurses’ strike continues
05 March 2012, 07:24
Striking nurses have threatened to camp outside Parliament from on Monday until their salary demands are addressed.
The ultimatum by the Kenya National Union of Nurses
came as public hospitals almost ground to a halt and patients
prematurely discharged as the strike entered its fourth day on Sunday.
The union secretary general Seth Panyako at the
same time asked the Medical Services Ministry to employ 24,000 nurses in
the next financial year.
