Court temporarily stops biometric registration of workers

Kisumu - The biometric registration of county government workers has been temporarily halted in six counties.
Industrial Court judge Lady Justice Hellen Wasilwa issued temporary orders stopping the exercise in Kakamega, Trans Nzoia, Kisumu, Migori, Bungoma and Busia counties following a case filed by Kenya County Government Workers Union, The Standard reports.
Last week, Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru officially launched the exercise.

President Uhuru Kenyatta launched the biometric registration of civil servants and said it was aimed at eliminating ghost workers in a bid to reduce the public wage bill.
