Nairobi - The Standard reports the Industrial Court is on Monday expected to rule on contempt of court charges against the teachers union officials even though they called off the teachers' strike.
The court will rule on the case facing Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) chairman Wilson Sossion and Secretary-general Mudzo Nzili after the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) failed to withdraw contempt of court proceedings against the union over the strike.
Knut may be fined KES 20 million, while its members, who are more than 200,000 would be fined KES 10, 000 each if found guilty.
