Court fines Knut over teachers' strike
22 July 2013, 13:01
Nairobi - Daily Nation reports the Industrial Court has fined Kenya National Union of Teachers KES 5 million for contempt of court and also ordered the union's officials to pay KES 500,000 each or serve a 30-days jail term.
The court directed the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to collect fine from Knut.
The ruling comes even as Knut officials called off the teachers' strike last week and ordered teachers to report back to work today.
