Nairobi - High Court Judge, Lady Justice Mumbi Ngugi, on Thursday dismissed an application seeking to defer President Uhuru Kenyatta’s ICC trials at the International Criminal Court.
The application had been filed by two activists, Ken Bartai and Felix Kiprono, Daily Nation reports. In their suit, the two had submitted that Uhuru’s absence from the country would put Kenya’s sovereignty at stake.
However, Justice Ngugi in her ruling said that there was insufficient evidence to prove that Uhuru’s absence from the country would create power vacuum.
