Counties get court reprieve in budget battle

Nairobi - County governments will now receive fifty percent of their respective
This follows an agreement consent between, county speakers, the
Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) and the Controller of Budget.
The agreement was reached before High Court Judge Isaac Lenaola, and comes before the determination of a petition where the County Assemblies Forum CAF is
seeking an advisory on the mandate of the Controller of Budget and the
CRA to set budget ceilings for County Governments.
The move averted a potential crisis as Counties had said they were broke and could not pay July salaries for staff.
