Cotu: Why we skipped Muchai’s funeral
17 February 2015, 10:51
Nairobi - The Central Organization of Trade Unions’ (Cotu) top officials skipped the funeral of the late Kabete MP George Muchai for fear of being heckled.
According to Cotu trustee Francis Wangara, there were plans to heckle and bar them from addressing mourners at the function, according to the reports they had received.
He also said that Cotu had earlier sent some members to represent the union at the burial committee but were forcibly ejected, something that did not turn up well with the union’s officials, The Standard reported.

Muchai was kicked out of Cotu where he served as the Secretary General following leadership wrangles. He protested the move in court, saying his removal was illegal.
A section of leaders who spoke accused said top leaders in Cotu were behind the killing of the MP together with his three aides in Nairobi.
