Cord condemns ejection of UK diplomats from hotel

22 November 2013, 20:58

Nairobi - Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) came to the defence of the senior British officials who were removed from an hotel where they were attending a meeting , the Nation reports.

Kenya and Britain have been at loggerheads in the past few weeks, as the trials of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are due to stand trial at the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.

Kenya, together is lobbying with the African Union to get the duo's trials deferred, and when Britain proposed a video trial, it was hastily rejected by Kenya.

Cord reportedly said that the actions of county Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno to have the officials removed from the hotel would tarnish Kenya's relations with Western nations.
