12 December 2011, 16:02
Nairobi - According to Daily Nation reports, 2,300 doctors have given notice to the government of their intended mass resignation should a court handling their dispute not rule in their favour.
Meanwhile private doctors who have been handling emergency cases at public hospitals have threatened to discontinue their services should the strike not be resolved by Tuesday.
Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) secretary general Boniface Chitayi said that the consultant doctors have realised that the government is taking too long to act and now will join the strike.
