Mtwapa - Ten religious leaders are among 35 graduates who received training on how to handle homosexuals, a course organised by Kemri in Mtwapa. Several assistant chiefs, prisons officers, a DO and chief were also among the graduates.
The group graduated on Tuesday after successfully completing a two and a half months training on how to handle gay people, The Star reports. The training was conducted by Kemri in Mtwapa, a town that is famous for homosexuality and other illegal activities.
Religious leaders have maintained a stern stance against homosexuality, and those found practicing it have in the past been harassed by police in various parts of the country even as members of the minority group - gays - continue fighting for recognition by the government.
