British army officer who hosted royals ‘killed in burglary’

Nanyuki - A former officer in the British army, who ran the nature reserve in Nanyuki that hosted the royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton during their engagement, was killed by an armed gang on Sunday.
According to the UK Metro, an armed gang raided Lieutenant Colonel David Parkinson's ranch in Lolldaiga Hills and attacked him with machetes early on Sunday morning. His wife Sonja managed to get away and locked herself in a strong room.
Confirming the incident, Police chief Marius Tum said that Parkinson was found fatally wounded by his wife in what is appeared to have been a scuffle with the thugs who made away with a laptop, phone and ornaments.
