Bandits raid village in Baragoi, steal 100 goats

Baragoi - A mood of fear has gripped a village in Baragoi following an attack by bandits who stole 100 goats.
Residents said the heavily armed bandits struck on Monday at 6pm when the animals were back from the grazing field, The Standard reports.
According to Samburu Police Commandant Patric Wambane, the bandits were being tracked down in a bid to recover the animals.
Last week, two GSU officers were shot dead by castle rustlers in Baringo.
The attack took place Friday evening after officers who had been on a mission to retrieve stolen cattle were ambushed by the rustlers in Marigat area.
One GSU officer died on the spot after the attack with the other dying while receiving treatment.
Two other injured officers were airlifted to Nairobi for specialized treatment.
It is understood that the officers were stranded after being caught in the middle of the attacking rustlers who shot at will.
No cattle rustler was arrested in the incident.
