Atwoli: I am in Cotu till death
27 October 2014, 09:33
Kisumu - The Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has told those plotting to remove him from office to wait until he dies.
He said he still remains firm in the leadership of COTU and only death will remove him from the position he is currently holding in the organization, The Standard reported.
Atwoli claimed that his critics were accusing him of embezzling KES 7 million as a way to have him removed from office.
COTU Deputy Secretary General, George Muchai was suspended by the union’s executive board chaired by Atwoli after the war of words between the two leaders escalated.
Muchai accused Atwoli for allegedly selling off COTU’s property without following due procedure.

The outspoken COTU boss sensationally claimed that Muchai has been trying to oust him by working in cahoots with Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi.
He said that Muchai presented false corruption claims to investigators to incriminate him and force him out of the country's largest workers body.
